windows中的emacs /cmd.exe中的cygwin shell

我试图让python在emacs的命令shell中运行。我已经尝试了Windows emacs附带的标准M-x shell，然后键入'python'但python只是挂起（没有输出）。我也尝试从cygwin运行其他程序shell，如bash.exe，结果相同。有没有办法获得可以运行python等其他程序的shell？
