我自己想通了。我在MVVM-Light中基于ViewModelCommon创建了一个ViewModelBase类，并为其添加了INotifyDataErrorInfo接口：

public class ViewModelCommon : ViewModelBase, INotifyDataErrorInfo

然后在我看来的模型代码而不是ViewModelBase我只使用了我的ViewModelCommon类：

public partial class AdministrationViewModel : ViewModelCommon

它运作得很好。
